Introduction

Mock Point ("we", "our", or "us") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting the personal information of our users ("you" or "student"). This Privacy Policy explains how our mobile application collects, uses, stores, and protects your information when you use Mock Point to prepare for competitive government examinations.

Mock Point is designed with an offline-first architecture, minimizing personal data collection and ensuring that your test responses, rough work, and practice progress remain stored securely on your device.

1. Information We Collect

We collect only the minimum information necessary to provide and improve our educational services:

A. Information You Provide Directly

  • Google Account Profile: If you choose to sign in using Google Sign-In, we receive your verified display name, email address, and unique Google account identifier to create your student account.
  • Guest Mode: If you choose "Continue as Guest", no personal identifiable information (name or email) is collected. You can practice offline completely anonymously.

B. Exam & Academic Performance Data

  • Mock Test Attempts: Question responses, time spent per question, test completion timestamps, accuracy scores, and subject breakdown.
  • Local Device Storage: Question packages, rough sheet notes, and test answers are stored locally on your device using an encrypted SQLite database. For registered users, overall milestone totals (total tests taken, overall accuracy, best score) may be backed up to our secure cloud database for account recovery across devices.

C. Technical & Diagnostic Data

  • Device & App Diagnostics: Standard anonymous technical data (device model, Android OS version, app version, network connectivity status) collected solely for bug fixing, performance monitoring, and crash diagnostics.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information for the following legitimate educational purposes:

  • To authenticate your student profile and restore your subscription/purchase entitlements.
  • To generate instant exam scorecards, percentile estimates, and subject-wise accuracy analytics.
  • To provide offline mock test downloads and cache test packages locally on your device.
  • To deliver push notifications regarding new government job alerts, exam dates, and admit cards (only with your explicit permission).
  • To process subscription purchases and verify active premium student status.
  • To detect, prevent, and address technical errors or abusive usage.

We do not sell, rent, trade, or monetize your personal information to third-party advertisers.

3. Third-Party Service Providers

To support application features, we integrate trusted third-party services that may process data under their respective privacy policies:

  • Google Play Services & Google Sign-In: For secure authentication, app updates, and Android platform integrity (https://policies.google.com/privacy).
  • Google Play In-App Billing: For secure subscription management and billing. All payment processing is handled exclusively by Google Play; Mock Point never accesses or stores your credit card, debit card, or banking details.
  • Google AdMob: For displaying contextual advertisements to free-tier users. Premium subscribers enjoy a completely ad-free experience (AdMob Privacy Policies).
  • Supabase: For secure cloud database storage of user subscription entitlements and authentication sessions (https://supabase.com/privacy).
  • Cloudflare Pages CDN: For high-speed, secure distribution of static question bank packages and exam syllabi (https://www.cloudflare.com/privacypolicy/).

4. Data Storage, Security & Retention

  • Local Data Priority: Your detailed exam attempts, answer logs, and practice drafts reside on your local device storage.
  • Automatic Cache Management: To optimize device storage, detailed question logs older than 60 days may be automatically purged locally, while your cumulative study milestones (total score, tests attempted) remain preserved permanently.
  • Security Measures: We use industry-standard HTTPS/TLS encryption for all data transmitted between the app and our cloud endpoints. Sensitive tokens are stored using hardware-backed secure storage (Android Keystore / EncryptedSharedPreferences).

5. Your Data Rights & Account Deletion

You have complete ownership and control over your personal data:

  • In-App Account Deletion: You can delete your account and all associated personal data directly within the app by navigating to: My Account → Session → Delete Account.
  • Data Erasure Request by Email: You can also request complete deletion of your account, email address, and synced test records by contacting us at contactbimalapps@gmail.com. Upon verification, all server-side records associated with your account will be permanently erased within 7 business days.
  • Local Data Removal: Uninstalling the app or clearing app storage from Android Settings permanently deletes all local SQLite databases and offline test caches.

6. Children's Privacy

Mock Point is intended for students and adults preparing for competitive government examinations (typically ages 18 and above). We do not knowingly collect or solicit personal identifiable information from children under the age of 13. If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we will immediately delete such data from our servers.

7. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect new features, legal requirements, or security enhancements. Any updates will be posted with a revised "Last Updated" date, and significant changes will be communicated through an in-app notice. Continued use of Mock Point following changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
